Examples Of Our Experience: Amalgamation of Trusts and first registration of land
We acted for a large Diocese with many varied land holdings across the South East in relation to the dissolution of old trusts dating back to the 18th century and the amalgamation of other small trusts into one main diocesan trust. This involved dealings with the Charity Commission, preparation of constitutional charity documentation, transfer of all trust property to the main trust and first registration of the property portfolio at the Land Registry. The work required careful analysis of a large volume of very old trust documentation and title deeds, dealing with trusts where there were no living trustees, preparing documentation for appointment of new trustees and registering property at the Land Registry where often there were no title deeds at all.
